Register a company by choosing a structure, reserving a name with SECP, filing incorporation documents, and getting your NTN.
Registering a company makes your business official and builds trust with customers, banks, and partners. In Pakistan, most companies register with the SECP. Here is the process, step by step.
Step 1: Choose your structure
Decide whether to register as a sole proprietor, a partnership (AOP), or a private limited company. A private limited company offers limited liability and looks more credible, but has more compliance.
Step 2: Reserve your company name
Apply to SECP to reserve your business name. Pick a name that is unique and not already taken or restricted.
Step 3: File incorporation documents
- Memorandum and articles of association
- Directors and shareholders' details
- CNIC copies and address proof
Step 4: Get your NTN and bank account
After incorporation, register for a National Tax Number (NTN) with FBR and open a business bank account. You may also need sales tax registration depending on your business.
Step 5: Stay compliant
Companies must file annual returns and keep proper records. A business setup or registration consultant can handle the whole process for you, quickly and correctly.
