Is a friends-and-family round a good idea for first capital in Pakistan?

Relatives want to put in money. I worry about relationships if the startup fails. How should founders structure this?

Only take money you can lose without breaking the family. Use clear written terms: amount, instrument (loan vs equity), expected timeline, and that there is no guaranteed return.

Prefer convertible-style notes with caps if available, or documented loans. Never mix household expenses with company cash.

If saying no protects the relationship, say no.
