Should co-founders take salary from day one or wait for revenue?

Two founders, limited savings. Investors dislike high founder salaries. What is a balanced approach?

Take a survival salary, not market salary, until revenue or a raise supports it. Document it. Unequal living costs should not silently create resentment — discuss openly.

If one founder must stay unpaid longer, adjust equity or future catch-up thoughtfully and in writing.
