Do I need an NOC from the landlord before buying a shop business?

Inventory deal is agreed but lease is in seller name. What must happen?

Yes — confirm assignment/transfer rights and get landlord approval in writing before final payment. Stock without a transferable lease is a trap.

Also check unpaid dues that could block transfer.
